ULI North Florida - UrbanPlan Volunteer Training for Jacksonville
Become a trained UrbanPlan volunteer! Becoming a volunteer will allow you to support the students of Bishop Kenny High School, Episcopal School of Jacksonville, the Bolles School, Maclay High School, FSU, and now Riverside High School. We will be holding a one-day UrbanPlan training session for new volunteers on February 6 at Holland & Knight.

What is UrbanPlan?
UrbanPlan is a realistic, engaging exercise in which participants -- high school students, university students, or public officials -- learn the fundamental forces that affect development in out communities. Participants experience challenging issues, private and public sector roles, complex trade-offs, and fundamental economics in play when proposing realistic land use solutions to vexing growth challenges.

Who should become an UrbanPlan volunteer?
A professional in the real estate industry who wants to give back to the local community and educate
students about the real estate industry.
What does it mean to be an UrbanPlan volunteer?
Once trained, you are then qualified to participate in the following roles. Opportunities will be
announced throughout the year.
Facilitator Role - challenging the participants to think critically as they respond to a hypothetical
"Request for Proposal" for the redevelopment of a blighted urban area (1-3 hours)
City Councilperson Role – evaluating team presentations, asking relevant questions, and giving
feedback (1-2 hours)
