    This year's local panel is focused on Hurricane Resiliency and features Mike Crow, Assistant General Manager, Power Delivery, Curt Ostrodka, Director of Smart Communities, VHB in Orlando, and Kevin Peters, Emergency Management Director, Leon County.

    Michael Crow

    City of Tallahassee

    Mike Crow is an experienced utility operations leader with nearly two decades in the electric industry. Since 2022, he has served as Assistant General Manager for the City of Tallahassee Electric & Gas division, overseeing transmission and distribution for 126,000 customers while driving safety, reliability, and workforce development. Before joining the City, Mike spent 16 years with an electric cooperative, advancing from lineman to various leadership roles. He has been a key operational lead in storm restoration efforts for some of the areas most impactful events including Hurricanes Hermine, Irma, Michael, and Idalia. Most recently, he managed the challenges of the active 2024 hurricane season and led restoration efforts during Tallahassee’s historic tornado event in May 2024. Mike holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Organizational Leadership from Troy University, where he developed a strong foundation in strategic planning and leadership. With a deep understanding of field operations and emergency response, Mike is committed to building resilient systems, fostering leadership, and ensuring top-tier service for the communities he serves.

    Curt Ostrodka

    Director of Smart Communities, VHB

    As Director of Smart Communities at VHB, Curt is a future-focused leader managing collaborative teams that address complex community and mobility planning issues, including future-ready smart cities, advanced air mobility, community redevelopment, and healthy community design. He is a Principal at VHB, and leads the company's efforts for electric vehicle charging infrastructure, broadband equity and access, and other smart city strategic planning services for the entire firm footprint. With 20 years of urban and environmental planning experience, he focuses on using technology and innovation to make our communities more sustainable, resilient, and equitable. Curt currently serves as District Council Chair for the ULI Central Florida, one of the fastest growing regions of the country. He has previously served as Co-Chair of the Programs Committee, the Trends in Real Estate Conference, and a member of the Florida Multifamily Product Council. His projects have earned numerous awards from the American Planning Association Florida Chapter, Florida Redevelopment Association, and the International Downtown Association, and he has delivered over 50 presentations on innovative urban planning topics at national and state professional conferences, including ULI, APA, Smart Cities Connect, and APWA. He earned a Master of Urban and Environmental Planning degree from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences with Honors from the University of Illinois.
