ULI North Florida’s Shaping the Competitive City, will feature dynamic national, state and local speakers engaging attendees on ways infrastructure serves as the foundation to regional innovation and competitiveness. The program will include such topics as the role of infrastructure in enhancing Jacksonville’s regional and global competitiveness, specifically reflecting alignment with ULI’s recent Shaping the Competitive City report. Speakers will talk about leveraging the region’s infrastructure as an anchor to creating a more competitive region while calling attention to broader components of regional economic progress in the area.

Other sessions will include trends in energy, recognizing that recent ULI studies show energy as a high-impact infrastructure category that is a top trend in shaping a competitive city. The program will conclude with presentations from local leaders that will introduce the potential created by a long term, community wide collaboration to harness the region’s resources in pursuit of greater impact locally and globally. Questions such as how do local leaders use infrastructure investments to position our region for real estate investment and economic development, and what role infrastructure plays relative to other economic development strategies will be explored.
