The 2014 event featured dynamic national, state and local speakers that discussed the role of infrastructure to enhance Jacksonville’s regional and global competitiveness, and how leveraging the region’s infrastructure can create a more competitive region.

The workshop featured dynamic National, State & Local Speakers:

Dr. Daniel Iacofano, Ph.D., FAICP, FASLA, MIG
As the founding principal of MIG, Dr. Iacofano has more than 25 years of experience in urban planning and community design, specifically for downtowns, transit-oriented development, neighborhoods, and urban centers. Based in Berkeley, California, Dr. Iacofano’s diverse projects have addressed such issues as public transit, traffic, housing, economic development, land use and regional growth.

Dr. Dale Brill, Think Spot
Dr. Brill is a proven agent of change having injected innovation into firms from the earliest start-up phases to the introduction of e-commerce as General Motor’s Dean of e-Commerce and as its Global Business Leader for General Motors-Europe. Prior to launching Thinkspot, Dale served as president of the Florida Chamber Foundation, the public policy research and development division under the umbrella of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. His presentation will integrate global best practices and case study analysis to frame the potential realized in creating cohesive regional initiatives, tying together all previous sessions.

Ed McMahon, Urban Land Institute
Ed McMahon holds the Charles E. Fraser Chair on Sustainable Development and Environmental Policy at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Washington, D.C. He is nationally known as an inspiring and thought-provoking speaker and a leading authority on topics such as the links between health and the built environment, sustainable development, land conservation, smart growth, and historic preservation.
