The Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida is pleased to announce David Weiss, Shareholder, Ausley McMullen, as the FY25 Chair-Elect of the ULI Capital Region Board. Weiss will succeed current Chair Autumn Calder, Director, Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency, effective July 1, 2024, and serve a one-year term.
The Urban Land Institute is the global leader in research and education focused on land use and real estate issues. The Capital Region is served by a local board with a mission to share best practices in real estate and to connect real estate leaders for the betterment of Tallahassee and the surrounding communities. The Board provides local leadership by managing local meetings, programs, and initiatives.
Weiss will oversee the Capital Region Board and provide strategic direction on its initiatives and activities. Weiss has been actively involved with the Urban Land Institute for more than 6 years, where he currently serves as a Board Member for the ULI Capital Region and is the current Co-Chair of Programming. Prior to his involvement with the Program Committee, Weiss served as the Co-Chair of UrbanPlan, a project-based learning curriculum unit for high schools that engages students to consider the myriad of complex decisions that shape our built environment. He continues to be an active UrbanPlan volunteer.

Weiss has over 15 years of experience in land use and real estate law, representing commercial clients and governmental entities. His practice focuses on matters related to contracts, real estate, planning, zoning, land use and development. David formerly served as the County Attorney for a small county in north Florida.
In addition to Weiss’s involvement with ULI, David is involved with Leadership Florida, Leadership Tallahassee, the Tallahassee Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
Weiss graduated from Florida State University College of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor and Certificate in Environmental and Land Use Law, magna cum laude.
